Digital Portfolio Project
Teacher Reflection:
At the beginning of the school year, I worked with all of the 9th graders to create their digital portfolios. Students made their sites and their first post, and then......we didn't touch them for months.
Fast forward to April 2021, Spring of my student teaching year, and I was getting ready to begin my "takeover", where I'd take the lead role in teaching for the rest of the school year. The circumstances were special, as we were preparing to transition from distance learning to a hybrid model where students would have the option to come to school two times per week. Because of complicated logistics, it worked out that my classes would remain fully virtual, and I would only see each class group once per week. I struggled to come up with a project idea that would gain momentum in this context. Until the idea of the Digital Portfolio Project dawned on me.
We had worked hard at the beginning of the year to create digital portfolios, and then forgot about them for months. I felt compelled to come full circle and end the year with my class by celebrating the hard work students had done by compiling it on to their DPs. So we embarked on a Digital Portfolio Project journey!
